Max towing @ 8350# is for a boat or flat bed trailer. That much weight in the form of a box would make for a very unpleasant towing experience. What you are attempting is doable for short trips no more than a couple of hundred miles on pretty flat terrain. Oh, you live in Virginia. Guess there's not too many flat roads.
I've pushed my weight limits a couple of times. It's doable and properly setup it's safe. But there is a lot of merit to leaving yourself some decent margin between your actual weights and your rated capacities. It's a far better towing experience when you stay well under the margins.
