The OP's truck is a rocket towing or not compared to any production 4-spd truck. So what if he doesn't use the two overdrive gears when towing? That leaves him a first gear to get the weight moving like old school 6.10 axle! Then 4-5 more gears throughout the ratio range of 3 usable towing gears with older trans. Power is not a problem.
