Seems most who reply are completely ignoring the fact that the Ram has an 8 speed auto trans. With the 8 speed, the rear axle ratio isn't as important as it used to be. This is plainly evident by the math done by APT, and by Ram in their tow ratings. The rear axle ratios available are 3.21, 3.55, and 3.92. There's only 1500# max tow difference between the 3.21 and the 3.92, so 500# per step, which isn't much.
I think you'll end up being close to many of the ratings of the truck, and dry weights are notorious for being low when compared to reality. No one tows and empty RV around more than the time they bring it home from the dealer.
I'd say you'll be ok, but I don't know if it's a combination I'd want to take cross the country or over the Rockies, but then I'm fussy about performance.
