Truck sway and and stability

I just viewed a video on the Roadmaster Active Suspension. It states it will eliminate sway and several other problems. Has anyone heard of this product or used it. It sounds great and the dealer told me he has it on his personal truck and highly recommends it. I have a 2003 F450 Ford with a flatbed and a Arctic Fox 990 camper on it. It wanders around on the road, I have had the front suspension checked out and it is in good shape. New tires. thanks for any input
  • 19.5" tires have patterns for steer and traction. If you use traction tires on all four corners (like I do), you will get more wander out of the front end.

Look for looseness in your spindle bearings and steering parts if this is something that has changed over time.

Front end wander is different than sway from a load . An f450 should be more than enough truck . I have read that 19.5 tires sometimes cause a wandering condition . Does it happen unloaded also ?
  • Does the camper weigh enough to cause the overload leafs to make contact on your rear axle? If not call Torklift and get a set of Stabileloads.
  • I am no expert on this subject but was wondering if the fact that you have it on a flatbed vs a normal slide in bed, would cause you to have this problem. It appears that it would be about 18" higher than if it was in the bed of a pickup. It seems to me when I had my Lance TC there was a height measurement also for the COG. JMT
  • I thought about the center of gravity, the front end looks light like it is setting a lot higher than rear of truck. There is a center of gravity sticker on the drivers side of camper and it is center of rear axle. I don't know how I would move the weight forward the camper is setting to the front of bed now. agan any help would be appreciated.
  • Might suggest you check individual axle weighs. Sounds like you may not be carrying enough weight on front axle
  • Seems odd? You've got more truck and less weight than I do and I haven't had a problem even before I installed the Big Wig. COG problem?
