Truck tailgate

For those of you who are full time, what did you do with your tailgate? Sell it? I will be going full time in a month or so.
  • yeah, but then, he would probably have to buy new doors, seats, wheels & tires, bumpers, stereo equipment and on and on......
  • Alternatively, you could simply park the truck in the right neighborhood for a few hours, and the problem will be taken care of for you.
  • My tailgate came off my truck in 2009 two months after I bought it. It's never been back on the truck, even tough I don't leave the camper on 24/7/365.

I would never consider selling the tailgate without the truck or the truck without a tailgate, nor would I buy a truck without a tailgate.

Find a place to store it.
  • As other's have said, if you ever sell the truck, you'll probably get more for it and have an easier time selling it if it's got a tailgate. On the other hand, if you're going full time and have no place to store it yourself and no friends or family you could impose on - and let's face it, sometimes it can be an imposition - then I would definitely try to sell it on craigs list now, while there's still some time.
  • I have ceiling hoist for my convertible hardtop and when I sold convertible - that makes perfect rack for tailgate.
I never plan to use tailgate and it was on the truck only for 1 week, so am considering selling it. 2017 F350.
  • Yup,don't get rid of it..Have a friend or family keep it for you..You won't be sorry.

That’s not possible with most TC’s. Store the tailgate, you may want it if you sell or trade your truck.
