The is an open post under 5th wheels about BFG recalls of 100,000 tires. I see more and more posts of this an other forums about BFG and Michelin failures.
I started one, I thought in towing vehicles. But my local dealer notified me that there was a recall, we had just finished a trip up to Banff, all around Montana, South Dakota, Idaho and Utah including quite a bit of off road 4WD trips. No problems whatsoever. I wish I could say the same for my 5ver tires.
However when I was waiting for the new tires to come in I did notice a shimmy that suddenly appeared at 55-60 mph. I was thinking that I better get an alignment done. But when the new tires were on, the shimmy vanished, so I suspect a tire failure was in the process of happening and I got that tire off the truck just in time.
I'll see how the new tires hold up, BFG eliminated the problem model and replaced it with one with what it claims is 20% better tire life. I was actually offered my choice of three tire models, two Michelin highway tires and the ALL Terrain T/A that I got.
