Ford doesn't talk much about it's being the most economical truck to drive. Their wording is the best COMBINATION of mileage and power. Lots of trucks may get better mileage with small V-8s or 6 cyl engines but certainly can't tow 11,000 lb. over 7% grades at over 12,000 feet elevation and do it in 4th gear.
Neither can the vast majority of Eccoboost's. Unless it comes with the Max Payload and Max tow package (and very few do), there is no way it can tow 11,000# of anything without being waaaay over its payload. I like the Ecoboost, think it is one hell of an engine but the hype goes on and on. I always seek out Eccoboost owners to get their experience. The last guy I spoke with (yesterday), said he screwed up and got it with a 3:23 rear end and he is pulling an 8,000# TT. What is wrong with this picture boys and girls? :R
