Truck upgrades

If you need air bags to keep level, you should should check your loaded weight verses your tire rating. While you are checking your rating also look at the age of your tires. They may be old even though they are not worn out.

I just installed the 5000 lb air suspension bags. Going to test them out this weekend. woowho.

Invest in a good roadsidea assistance program that includes RV towing.

Figure out what you are going to tow, read the towing specs for your truck and get what you need.

Do you have ride or suspension problems? I'd be looking at reliability issues like the egr, brakes,bearing, and tires and then creature comfort things for the truck and rv. Will you be in temperature extremes? Craig

F350 is a decent truck SRW or DRW. Personally for full time depending how much you move around, I would be looking at back up cameras both truck and trailer. If your like me you got the hitch they tossed in, I would be looking at giving that an overhaul. With the maintenance up to date, if you have not a transmission flush may be a good idea.

After that I would look at the trailer tires and depending on your maintance on the trailer and miles planned a repack or replace the bearings.

Since that's the case, the most important thing you can do is get a monitor ( Edge Insight, Scangauge II, our even a smartphone app) to allow you to know what's going on under the hood. Then learn what to look for. You might consider a coolant filter and flushing the system of the oem gold coolant and replacing with coolant that is ec1 rated. Since you've got some miles on it, maybe you'll be lucky, but you can still have some of the dreaded 6.0 problems. With a monitor and knowledge you'll be able to tell when/if problems are developing and take the right action to minimize it. Let your truck tell you what you need to do. It knows better than we do.

That ESP warranty from Ford was 200k miles/7 years. On a 2007 truck it's just about finished.

It sounds like you just want airbags because you think they're cool?

Normally people spend money on modifications to address a specific issue that they're having.

If that's what floats your boat go for it, but if you don't have any complaints now then save your money and spend it on fuel.

Typically upgrades are an effort to fix a weak spot. Your ~8 year old 6.0 has never needed a repair, and maintenance isn't lacking, doesn't seem to leave anything to worry about.

Enjoy full timing, I've got another 34 years to go before I get to consider doing the same.
