The tongue weight/hitch question is something else to be considered (maybe in another thread). But...I'm moving from a 1/2 Silverado with 600 lb. TW that doubled with a 1,200/12,000 Equalizer hitch. Obviously that's not going to do me much good with this truck (2 1/2 receiver with 1,500 lb. TW without a WD hitch) and I wouldn't DREAM of pulling something that long without an anti-sway setup.
I'm still getting used to having this much truck to work with. One of the things I've run across is trying to find a WD/anti-sway setup with a 2 1/2 shank. I like the Equalizer, and you can get a 2 1/2 shank for them, but like the Hensley it only goes to 1,400 lbs. I'm pretty sure with what we've looked at we're going to exceed that.
Reese makes a straight-line trunnion system that can utilize a 2 1/2 shank up to 1,700 lb. TW but I haven't seen too much on it yet. So any suggestions on that would be appreciated too.
