tt moves
Hi all. We are renting a 35' tt in. Campground. There are only four piers underneath it. My wife is a heavy Walker. When she moves I can feel the tt move. Is this normal or does it need more piers. It still sits on the tires. Thanks.

- I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old... the one thing they enjoy in life more than annoying me is RUNNING and stomping on the RV. I'll be outside cooking, and bam bam bam bam, all day long. It's annoying as hell, but as many have said, once I got over it / ignored it, I don't even notice it anymore.
- This is normal. Even with a lot more supports, a heavy walker can still make the floor bounce, and that will feel like trailer movement. TTs, for mobility, get lightweight construction.
This happens in the housing industry too. My brother bought a house built in the '80s in which the floor bounced. The floor was panels over widely spaced trusses, each section was like a drumhead. Next house he went back to the '50s for heavier construction, 12 inch joists on 16 inch centers, hardwood subfloor. No bounce. - I put a 40 footer on a permanent site.
I addition to the stabilizers, I have three concrete block piers with wood shims on each side, and then I put a jack under each axle at the shackle near the wheel, (total four). This will keep the tires off the ground as each one loses air over time.
I also have concrete block piers under the outside corners of the slides( two per slide)
The trailer is rock solid (like our house)

- In the past 7 years of full time RV'ing and talking with hundreds of campers I have noticed one thing about RV movement. Don't chase a solution. There are literally dozens of "fixes" and from what I hear some work somewhat, but none stop all movement. It just isn't possible.
Ignore it and you will soon forget about it and this costs nothing. When I first started full timing I really noticed my Splendide wash/dryer combo running. Now I don't even know if it is running even when I start a load just before bedtime. - Normal. Your sitting on a spring supported platform sitting on rubber tires.
Ignore it and you'll get used to it. - Yes normal. Just imagine you are on a ship at sea! Wait till the wind blows REAL hard and the trailer begins to rock. It's freaky until you finally realize the camper is not going to fall over. Then, it's actually kind of cool.
- It is totally normal for the trailer to wobble when people move around in it.
- Perfectly normal. You might need to check the stabilizers once a day to be sure they're still firm against the ground. Contact and then half a turn.
- Tires are made out of rubber and rubber flexes. If you want it solid you need to put it on something solid.
