I really like our Glowsteps. (Full disclosure -- they sent me a free set of steps several years ago, asking me to test them out.) We boondock in rough terrain, and the "landing gear" on the steps makes contact with the ground. Much safer and more stable. The trailer does not rock. The stabilizers are not jiggled so that they get loose.
Unlike the original steps, though, the GSRs take a little maintenance -- I hose them off after every trip and spray the pivot points with silicone. Don't use WD-40 -- it picks up grit.
