We use a 3-step Little Jumbo and store it on the floor. We have a long, narrow throw rug in the camper that it sits on. While it is only an inch or two away from the wood work it has never moved despite some rough roads.

Look at the specifications for the steps. It shows a range of heights that they are good for. Park your truck on level ground and measure the height. Allow for a few inches either way.

You really don't want much more or less than an 8" step up, as that is comfortable for most people.

My Arctic Fox had scissor steps running all the way up to the door threshold. On my F250, I used 5-step 6" tread GlowSteps. On my 5500, I now use 7-step 8" tread GlowStep Magnums. Both steps accept the GlowGuide handrail and my Magnum steps are also optioned out with the LandingGear adjustable feet and SafeStep tread backs.

Not all TC's are L H hinged, mine (NL) is RH. If you post what kind of TC you have, others with a similar or like TC can tell what they do. Good Luck

on the larger picture, you can see on rear ladder about 2 steps down a black bracket they sell to carry chairs. I hold that bracket on ladder with velcro cable ties, than hang ladder on this. I also run 2 loops of the same velcro cable tie strap around the ladder, one at mid section and one near bottom. never had a problem yet.

that top shelf on ladder is for my pathway X2 satellite dish (but only when sitting still).

These work good for us .... but only 2 steps.

I bought them from Truck camper warehouse with my camper, but they were around the same price as amazon. They now run around $150 for the 4 step model. The treads are bigger than the scissor steps, but the rise might be higher.

search amazon on little giant step ladder. they come in 3 or 4 step, maybe more but I have 4 step. they are very sturdy. Plus you can pick them up and move them, open the forward handle and use them to clean the windows or wax the RV if you want :).

I would like to add one of those swing out loop railings you see on campers, but they are all designed to mount on RH hinge doors and truck campers are LH hinge. (the mounting bolts are offset to one side and it appears it would miss the door stud on my camper).

only problem I have ever has is once on a hill, the steps hit on top of the hitch and I had to put yellow blocks under the front of steps.

plus when parked with trailer on, they fit my truck sideways, going over the A frame of the trailer.

My truck sits kinda high.

We used our camper for the first time. had to take the picnic table and scoot it behind the camper so we can get in and out.

I have a step stool (2 stesp) which still makes it a little challenge to get in or out. If it was 3 it would be better.
