tub drain disconnected

We were getting water on the floor next to the shower and thought it was water getting by the curtain. I taped the curtain to the wall and still got water; lots of water.
I removed the access panel at the side of the shower and found the piping had disconnected from the tub drain. The nut that holds the piping to the drain had broken which allowed the pipe to drop down and allow a sizeable amount of water to leak onto the floor. It may also have leaked under the rig.
Taking it to the dealer in a couple of days. It will take a very small person to reach in there to fix the problem!
  • First time we used the shower in our TT, there was water on the floor. I ran a bead of caulk at the corners of the stall to make sure that leakage around the curtain drained INTO the pan, and that didn't help, so I popped open the little access door, and found that the guy who installed the plumbing had not bothered to tighten the nut on the shower drain. A couple twists later, and the problem was gone. Thank God I found that problem early, before any damage was done. Went round and checked all the drain fittings after that, and found the others OK. My guess is that the installer was just in a hurry.
  • Well... I'll be removing that little cover under my shower to see what it's doing tomorrow!
  • The bigger problem will show up later. Had the same thing happen (just came off, didn't break) and I don't know how many showers I took with the water just draining under the shower before I discovered it. Wasn't too much longer before the floor started rotting, and you can probably figure out the rest of the story.
