GM's 5.3L and Ram's 5.7L offer very competitive power and fuel economy to Ford's Ecoboost. They are both pushrod V8 engines with fewer moving parts, have proven very reliable, cost significantly less to produce than the Ecoboost, and retain the engine/exhaust sound many consumers desire. Different approaches to improve power and efficiency. Competition is good for us!
