FordloverI do love simplicity. I don't even have electric windows on either car. I don't know if you can even buy them that way any more.
I'll say it in a better way.
The 3.5 intercooler had problems on a lot of trucks in areas where there was a lot precipitation.
How many is "a lot?" I would pretty much guarantee it was a very small percentage.
The attempted lawsuit against Ford was dismissed because there wasn't a persistent problem. On the Ford boards hardly anyone has experienced the issue people like to squawk about. Nearly everyone I've read about, who has the TSB done, hasn't had the problems arise. As for my truck, it has never had the TSB done, and I've floored it every time I drive it in the rain to try to get the 'issue' to arise without success.
Bedlam, it just sounds like you are not a good candidate for the Ecoboost. Nothing wrong with that. Stick w/ your 2-barrel carb'ed F150 and manual windows.
Me, you probably couldn't pay me to drive a vehicle w/ manual windows and a carburetor. Unless it was a '68 Camaro, I suppose, in which case, I'd have port fuel injection installed as soon as I could manage!
