But I must admit the info on this site can be so negative on all vehicle. It tends to scare me more than inform me. :?
Don't fall prey to internet forum hyperbole. Internet forums can be a nice tool to spot issues, understand vehicles and all of that. They also attract those who have had problems and are seeking answers, complaining, or venting. I would submit that the issues you see on an internet forum are not even close to representative of what the general population undergoes.
Just an anecdote -- I'd say that it is fairly well settled that Ford's 6.0 diesel had some issues. There is a guy on my street I know pretty well, drives an '04 6.0 and likes it. I was asking him one day about this problem and that problem I was seeing on internet forums (I was shopping diesels at the time). His response was "huh?" He was unaware that the 6.0 had any problems, and there are even forums on the internet talking about these issues. He just goes out and drives his truck! Like the great majority of truck owners do.
I'd venture to guess that 90+% of Ecoboost owners out there have no clue that there ever have been condensation issues. They just drive their trucks, and most of 'em seem to like them a lot! Same goes with all other trucks.
