95 reports is not a small number, that is actually a large number to reach the NHTSA...
As you said the 6.0 had a great many problems. But there were no 'RECALLS' on the engine that I am aware of.
Same thing applies to the 6.4 diesel.
A TSB is in reality, a voluntary recall
95 vehicles out of even the 400,000 that were addressed is something like 0.02% of all the vehicles. That's not even including how many were manufactured and sold. NHTSA found issues in 95 total vehicles AFTER an investigation... its not like NHTSA randomly selected 100 vehicles and 95 had issues.
A TSB is not a voluntary recall. A TSB is simply an admission that there is a potential for a problem and describes a plan and process to handle those problems under warranty. It is NOT a recall.
The 6.0 diesel has a horrible reputation, but how many were manufactured over the years and how many actually had problems? I'm sure that there are a great many of Ford 6.0 owners out there that have no idea how "horrible" there engine is and they are ignorantly driving them without any problems at all. Again... I'm sure the problems are less than 1% of all engines produced.
Its not a good thing that Ford had problems with those engines, but it is hardly the widespread issue that the internet makes it out to be.
