Turbo small displacement - displacement on demand- a winner?

It will be interesting to see what happens in the future. Will Dodge and GM go to small displacement, turbo gassers....or will Ford go to displacement on demand ?

Or will the Dodge 1500...small turbo, diesel be the way to go.

Does the small diesel used by Dodge put out more torque than the Ford 3.5 liter Turbo 3.5 gas V6 ?

It will also be interesting to see if the small turbo diesel, being introduced in the new 2015 Chevy Colorado, will make it's way from mid size to full size GM trucks ?
