- jerem0621Explorer IIEnsure water tank is off, drained, and bypassed. Open low point drains, blow out the lines, close the low point drains and blow out the rest of the lines moving from the furthest faucet to the water inlet to the closest. Drain the gray water tank and the black water tank if needed . Use $2.50 gallon of RV antifreeze and run through your lines. Add pink stuff to all the s traps.
The first time should take you 30 min to 1.5 hours. After that it gets much quicker after this.
Takes me 20-30 minutes now because my Zinger has a dumb false mini wall I have to crawl into a storage cubby and remove before I can bypass the water heater.
I do not mess around with freezing temps. Frozen lines are no fun and I have had to fight them enough. I just winterize as needed.
Thanks and good luck.
Thanks!

- GrandpaKipExplorer III will winterize probably 3 times this winter. Really not a big deal. Takes about 30 minutes. Then I don’t have to worry about it at all.
- TerryallanExplorer IINo colder than you are talking about. Put some heat inside the camper. And you will be fine. Hooking up a water hose will only freeze the water hose, and possibly damage the city water connector. So don't

Fill your onboard water tank and disconnect the hose. If you trickle the faucets the grey water tank will fill up within a few hours and flood the camper.
Everything else sounds fine.
Trickling water is the worst thing you can do. It will ( maybe ) keep your fresh hose and in house lines from freezing, but what about your 3" stinky slinky ? The very slow trickle through it will freeze, turning it into a 3" poopsickle which will back up into your grey tank, then flood the rig! NEVER TRICKLE an RV . Unless you also have an heated insulated waste hose connected to a sewer line that is below the frost line so it wont freeze , then back up anyway.
Not to mention the waste of water to save you a little inconvenience.
Do yourself service. Learn to winterize in a few minutes with a little pink A/F , compressed air or whatever works for you.
You save money A gallon of pink is a lot cheaper than the power and propane to heat it for one night - 2oldmanExplorer II

You'll be fine, freezing is overrated and exasperated....takes a while to damage. - kellemExplorerYou'll be fine, freezing is overrated and exasperated....takes a while to damage.
- midnightsadieExplorer IIset a buddy heater on the floor turn it to med and open the cabinet doors. running your furnace will kill the battery if not plugged in. I sit a piece plywood under the heater. small fan will help.
- harley4275ExplorerDisconect from city water, if hooked up. Shut water pump off, open all taps including out shower and open low point drains. On city water connection, push in little white button behind screen ...you will be ok.
