A crew cab holds value quite a bit better than an extended cab. Our short box works great with a fifth wheel. I do wish I had a little more cargo room sometimes, but I wouldn't trade it for a long box because it doubles as my daily driver. I don't have a slider hitch but use a rail mount Andersen flipped towards the rear.
