Ditto for a passenger van. We have a Chevy 3500 passenger van with the 5.7L gas engine and 3.73 back end, and 6 kids. We pull a 2010 Jayco JayFlight 26BH which has a listed dry weight of 4585 pounds. The actual weight is obviously more. The TT is small, but very doable. We had absolutely no problems going through the Rockies at 75 MPH this past summer. A setup in that ball park should do you well if you are not planning to be in the trailer all day. Most Chevy 1500 Suburbans that I see pulling any TT have noticeably way too much weight on the back hitch. I would definitely look for a 15 passenger. You'll pay the same as a 12 passenger when buying used, but have quite a bit more room.
