Ultra Fab Kudos

My Ultra Fab 3500 electric tongue jack quit working last Sunday, it started to "grind" really loud and stopped. The gears were stuck. I could not use the manual wrench provided. So I removed it from the TT, and took it a part. I did not see anything out of the ordinary, except for a lot of grease. So I emailed Ultra Fab Sunday night and asked it they had a "Gear Kit".
Monday morning, I received a reply from Randy, who said to give him more specifics and he asked me a few questions of what the jack was doing. So Monday night, I cleaned all the grease out and found out it was missing a bushing from a boss under the top cover that holds the pinion gear. I took a picture of it and sent it to Ultra Fab Monday night. Tuesday morning Randy emailed me back, thanked me for the photos and could not explain why the bushing was missing. He then sent a new bushing and I got it on Friday.
I put it together, and it works (and sounds) better than new!

    Did some reading on Ultra-fab on Amazon. Reviews on the product were about as bad there as they are here.

    Barker on the other hand? Raving!

    At the end of the day I want a product that will last more than a year. I don't want to keep talking to the great customer service reps they have to keep getting it fixed and or swapped out.

    Its like always getting bad food at a restaurant but you keep returning because the service is so good. :h

  • Im beginning to wonder if Ultra-fab is the way to go as I am looking at power tongue jacks. All I read on here is how good the customer service is and how quickly and easily it is to get a replacement.

    Seems a lot of you have had issues with this brand, thus having to deal with their outstanding customer service.

    I think it's great that they stand behind the product, but it seems to me the product doesn't hold up that well. If it did, I wouldn't be reading all these posts about how this or that broke, motor quit after 7 months etc.

    I don't know, just my observation.
  • Gotta say the same thing about Ultra-Fab. This past weekend I found that my 7 month old Ultra 4000 jack motor would no longer work under power. Emailed Ultra-Fab and Randy apologized for the problem and would send me out a new motor this week.

    That was beyond my expectations! Great, great company and customer service.

  • Yep I have nothing but great things to say about UltraFab. They take care of their customers.
  • Thats funny......... I also had an issue last week, sent a pic, and Randy sent me a brand new jack with a return label for my old one to be sent back. Fantastic customer service, and they have earned my business for life
