Yes - good idea. I hadn't thought of that. The base would need to be sealed. In my case both the riser and the base would need to be sealed.
This is my second season with it. I was at Hershey last weekend and boondocking at NASCAR the weekend before. It's definitely a nice touch. Most of my use has been dry camping, but we had full hookups at Hershey. With some decent water pressure behind it the thing has a swirl *almost* like home but doesn't use a lot of water. The black tank was only 1/2 full when I left Hershey on Sunday (though to be fair we did spend the days at the park). At NASCAR we were the tailgating home base for about a dozen people on Saturday. I left with the black tank 3/4 full.
