I have been following your investigation of upgrading to an F550/6.2 gas combo. Having a TC that is just a little heavier than yours and an F350/6.2 gasser, at least that part of it is similar, but unfortunately I don't have the experience of towing an additional 7,000 lbs. Hopefully someone out there has and will chime in.
My gut feel is that it's not going to be a great experience. I got this truck for a very specific purpose, and it performs admirably and comfortably doing that, but if I was going to add another 7,000 lbs to the equation I would definitely want to go diesel FWIW.
