I just finished a 4800 mile round trip from San Diego to Canada and back with my 6.2 and averaged 9.5 mpg with my 4000 lb. Lance camper. My truck is a 1 ton regular cab 4x4 with the 4.30 rear end. I've had the truck for 4 years now and it has been flawless. Turned 50k on the odo climbing the non stop mountains on the trans-Canadian hwy. Truck had power to spare.
