No one has said you can disregard the payload and I certainly never implied you should tow any fifth wheel with a Ram 1500 Eco-diesel, not one time. However towing a TT the tongue weight is to only thing that will detract from the pay load not the weight of the trailer. We all know you can go a little over on the payload without killing everyone on the highway.
As for registration, here in Ohio you pay according to the class truck you are registering. So my tag fee will drop with the new 1500 over my 2500.
