Exactly, but not surprising. Leadfoots will get poor mileage because they like to use all that extra power. I drive conservatively and get 20 mpgUS when not towing. But when towing my 7500# 64 sq ft sail I only get 10mpg. Those are both long-term numbers, carefully checked against the pump.
As somebody else said: you can have eco or boost but not both with that engine, or maybe turbo gassers in general. Of course, diesels are more fuel efficent.
