It's not useless info. Ford has a marketing campaign going on right now that touts a very similar scenario. Except Ford fails to mention the mpg difference. When one reads about the EB's power, one almost never reads about the mpg #'s achieved when that additional power was actually being explored. But now you know.
Sure, the EB gets a little better mpg than a V8 under cruise conditions, but make it work hard and it gets really thirsty.
