I may be old as my beliefs. But I say you can't beat displacement.
I will agree with others that 350 cu inch is enough. But I won't settle for less than 400 cu inches.
My belief is that if your engine turns 100,000 miles worth of RPM. It is 100,000 miles old. I am not concerned about how many miles that are on the odometer. If all those miles are in 3rd gear.
The engine is much older than the odometer registers in that case.
I am not restricting my beliefs to just the 4 and 6 cylinder motors. If your 8 cylinder is in a lower gear than OVERDRIVE. You are registering more wear than the vehicle that runs in overdrive. You can't lug a automatic transmission engine. So Other Than the Cummins with a stick. Lugging doesn't apply.
I have only been back on this board for a few days. And I have a little over a year to decide on which truck I will buy. But I can see I am already leaning real hard toward a diesel. I still haven't decided if I am to old and lazy to get the stick in the Cummins. :>)
