Buddylam that is what makes the Cummins the best diesel in a pick up period! The in-line six of my 5.9 even with the 48RE was turning under 1500 RPM in OD @ 65 MPH. That is why they run forever. Unlike a V-8 or yes even a V-6 diesel, the up side to the new 1500 Rams are they are running a eight speed trans. So it is going to be quick off the line but in the top gear will not be turning high RPMs so it should have a long life.
Only time will tell how well the EcoD works out but all I know is we can't make enough of them to support the demand right now! Hottest truck on the market, maybe it might even out sell the mighty F-150 someday!
