Don, did you take delivery of the truck yet? How do you like it? Have you towed yet (I kinda remember you mentioning you are without a trailer now... am I remembering right?)?
Payload is dinky on the truck, but what is the max tow rating on it? I still like the idea of a smaller diesel in a half ton. I really think there is a market for smaller diesel engines and lower price points than the super powerful diesels that Ford/Ram/GM offer in their 3/4 ton and above trucks.
I very much agree with this take... this 1500 with a smaller diesel package has been a LOOOONNGGG time coming. Like, as far as I am concerned, 7 or 8 years. That RAM finally brings it to market, I hope it sells like hot cakes. It will take some time for people to see new owners driving these new trucks, but once the word of mouth starts getting out, provided RAM does a good job on solving problems, and that the problems are few and far between, the wait and see will be over. My biggest concern is that a few guys work that little motor too hard, abuse it, then cry wolf about failure. It's a light duty diesel. Treat it accordingly, and don't push or exceed max towing capacity or abuse it... sometimes you have to fork over the money for the cubic inches you need to do the job. This is not a "job" oriented truck.
