So from here on out I will use the remote start when I'm outside the turnstiles heading to the parking lot. BTW I never hot rod the truck when she is cold, just a fine lady it's best to bring her up to temperature before pouring the coals to her ;)

Too bad the Mrs doesn't come with a remote start! Three blocks from the house...:B
In agreement on warm up's...I turn the key to on until grid heater symbol goes out, then start it up...I warm it up until oil pressure up, and drive it off. Been in temps slightly under zero with this truck and did let it warm some to help de-ice, but I'm scraping, so it's probably no more than 5 mins...These newer diesels don't take anywhere near as long as the one's I owned between 2003-2007.5..
I have remote start on my keyfob, but also have an app. on my phone where I can lock/unlock the doors and can even start the engine....:)....Don't use it, but was about 2 miles from the house one day and, with wife standing by the truck, (key in hand), I activated unlocking of the doors and in a minute or so wife reported doors unlocked, THEN I activated "start engine"...in a minute or so, engine started...at this time you're supposed to put key in ignition and turn to on and drive off....We didn't....I then activated to turn engine off and same wait period and the engine shut off and then I locked the doors...all from my cell phone...I thought it was pretty cool....I could see opening and locking doors coming in handy but have not used the start engine with app other than that one time....kinda cool I think:)
