Here is what the Diesel Supplement Owners Manual says,
Engine Idling
Avoid prolonged idling, long periods of idling may be
harmful to your engine because combustion chamber
temperatures can drop so low that the fuel may not burn
completely. Incomplete combustion allows carbon and
varnish to form on piston rings, cylinder head valves,
and injector nozzles. Also, the unburned fuel can enter
the crankcase, diluting the oil and causing rapid wear to
the engine.
So from here on out I will use the remote start when I'm outside the turnstiles heading to the parking lot. BTW I never hot rod the truck when she is cold, just a fine lady it's best to bring her up to temperature before pouring the coals to her ;)

Get in, close the door, start it up, buckle up your seat belt, release the parking brake, put her in gear and drive away gently on the accelerator. That's all it takes for warm up before you put 'er in gear and get going.
Maybe a little longer if you have a trailer on back to tow from a cold motor. I almost always warm my car up with a short lap, before putting the trailer on the bumper hitch and start towing 4000+ pounds with my 3.0 TDI touareg.
Love, love, love that two tone interior color scheme on your Ecodiesel RAM, Don.
