ACEA C3 requirements have far lower amounts of sulfated ash compared to the ACEA E9 spec which is what the typical diesel engine oil swill (Like Rotella t6, Mobil-1 Delvac, or Delo 400) qualifies as in North America. The Ecodiesel and other European diesels certainly have much lower tolerances of sulfated ash etc... Users certainly need to make sure they buy the right oil spec.
