Not bad; they just have less mass. Rotor are like radiators. The more mass they have to more BTU's they can absorb. That's why you see huge diameter rotors now days.
Yes I have weighed drilled and non drilled rotors when we raced. We just used a 1/4" disk on the back of the car and only used that because the rules said you had to have brakes on all 4 corners. The track we raced at you didn't needs brakes except for the pits and to slow down every now and then on the track.
When you come off a turn at the track you need as little mass hanging off of the axle you can have. Hence drilled rotors.
All that said, if you are within spec on your towing spec's and you overheat your brakes you are doing something way wrong IMHO.
