This could be the problem. You are working in Iowa with Texas plates. Maybe the officer has seen your truck before on the same route. I don't know about Iowa but here in Colorado the rule is if you are living in the state more then 30 days you are supposed to get Colorado plates. Of course that is for permanent residents, not people working here temporarily.
And that part of needing to keep a log book if towing your RV makes me wonder if he knows the rules. Hope you can get it resolved.
He said 90 consecutive days and I would have to get IA plates. Just run over to NB and buy fuel ever so often I guess.
As far as knowing the rules. He is a Capt and said that he is an instructor. He said that if one of his trainees would have pulled me over they would have wrote me for all violations instead of just the no numbers.
