Seems to me you should have DOT numbers then.

DOT numbers when a ladder is on top, no DOT numbers when a kayak is on top. We give out magnets with our DOT numbers to the foremans who use their own trucks. When they are doing work for the company, they stick the DOT numbers on the side. When they are just doing personal stuff, no DOT numbers. Never have we gotten our balls busted for this by the real weight police.
