Reddog1 it is a bummer to hear that LED don't accept 14.8V, so I hope it will not prove in my camper. My converter puts 14.2V at witch point I usually disconnect the battery and will not keep it connected.
Than I bought LED for $1 a piece, so if I will have to replace 2 panels a season, that is cheap enough.
Talking back about using the idea in household fridge, I take it that nobody did it so far.
I think at this point the easiest way would be removing the existing light socket and hardwire LED strip converter in its place (I already have extra strip somewhere in my sheed) . I would plan to do it when I will have frezer off as this will take some time.
For tommorow I plan to put the LED strip with converter inside the freezer with thin wire extension and test how well it takes 0F.
