The energy savings can be worse or better depending on where you live. A 100 watt incandescent light bulb produces both light and heat. Replacing it with an LED might not save you much as if it's winter and you are heating your house the heat energy is not wasted, it just reduces your heating load some. Now in summer if you air condition its another story and doubly bad.
Here in the PNW where summers are long (don't need to use lights much in summer), most people don't air condition, many people use electric heat, and electric rates are low, led's need to be much cheaper to be worth it.
