I have a 1969 Avion C-11 that has been in the family since new. It has never been off the vehicle on a camping trip. It really isn't made to be lived in without it being supported underneath. Many new campers have basements in them that makes the floor structure strong enough to give them good support underneath. Even if it was made to be used off the vehicle, I wouldn't do it. I have better things to do than unload and load a camper. If I was going to do that, I would buy a trailer instead.
For those who need to pull something with their TC and then remove the camper for a long stay in one loction, it may make sense, but I've never done it.
