VIDEO: Two TC Cabover Marker Lights Were Never Screwed On

What I did with mine was I replaced the filament bulbs with LED's so I never have to worry about changing them, coated the bases of the bulbs with di-electric grease before I inserted them, than I sealed the lenses to the bases with RTV silicone so no water can get in, ever.

And yes, my bases were installed upside down with the weep holes facing up. Typical numb nut RV workers.

Don't matter now though, all sealed up. The LED's should outlast the camper anyway. I used good ones (CREE) not the cheapo Amazon ones.

You know you put the base back on upside down, right? :p.

The lights have 20 years of weather, condensation, hot, cold. They show that and accumulated dust. Only so much water can get inside before simply draining g out, never penetrating the truck camper. If I keep the TC a few more years, I may switch to LED versions.

When I resealed my camper last year, I caulked around the base of the marker lights really well. I found a new type of tape at Home Depot, self fusing silicone tape. I wrapped it around the seam where the lense meets the base. It's clear so it can't be seen, no glue or adhesive on it, very stretchy but seals to itself water tight. So far, so good.

I think it's the next miracle product.

Good catch Jeff, Those little things can cause some big problems sometimes.

I have thought about removing them (all) and fiber glassing the holes closed.
