I once attended a meeting attended by state and federal regulators and the State police, dept of motor vehicles, and dept of transportation in regard to trailer length and weights of private vehicles. Also state politicians who legislate the regulations. You could not get the same answer from any 2 of them on anything. The ones that seemed to know the least were the ones from the scales and it looked like many made up rules as they went along.....My deal was length so I now keep a copy of the NC law in my motor home which makes it clear, at least here we are allowed 90ft. To many regulations!!!!
