I cannot see why anyone would want a stake in any Italian car or engine manufacturing except Ferrari of or Lamborghini. Great country, great people, great food, but cars are not their thing. Some nice looking cars, good marketing, but not a long term investment. Rust, breakdowns and more rust are the norm.
Can I watch when you try to 'splain that opinion to the Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Bugatti families?
Also Ducati, Aprilia, MV Agusta. - 45RicochetExplorer
It was sweet in Europe while it lasted for that month. - wilber1Explorer

Ferrari and Maserati owned by Fiat. Lamborghini and Bugatti (formerly a French company) now owned by VW. The world has changed since the seventies. - thomasmnileExplorer

Maybe he was thinking of Fiat when they were selling the X-19 in the States and FIAT was thought to be shorthand for "Fix It Again Tony" ? :h
Anyway, from what I have read of them, VM Motori is no slouch in the production/development of cutting edge diesel engines and diesel technology.
More than a couple companies out there have improved on Rudolph Diesel's "baby". - naturistNomad

I said this about 6 weeks ago.

Maybe link that " 6 week ago" comment Don :B But you had to see that coming, you know GM related to Fiat, err Ram. Guess GM will again fall behind in invocation in a 15 series diesel platform. Heck they can't even figure out how to hide the DEF tank :W
Looks like last place again for the the former king of trucks, ahh really don't know if they were ever king.
