Bottom line, no, it’s not THE answer yet. But it’s AN answer. Commuter vehicles, short trips, great, for now.
Hooking and booking with some real weight, uphill into the wind, out in the country, EVs are not up to that task yet or even close. There’s not even any infrastructure to support it.
So keep arguing, but you all know the answer and refuse to acknowledge the other side of the coin.
Reality is most trucks never carry a camper or tow anything significant.
If an EV truck can run on clean energy they could cover at least half the truck market. Imagine getting 60 to 80+ MPGe in a full size truck to pick up the kids, groceries, or a run to Home Depot.
Yes it would take a brave soul with an adventurous spirit to tow or haul something big cross country or to a remote area with an EV right now.
