Your regrets on the 4x4 are exactly why I will always have a 4x4 truck. It's always better to have it, and not need it, than to need it and not have it.
Twice in 2014, I needed 4x4. Without it, I would have gotten stuck one time, and not been able to back up hill on wet grass another time.
