I know that!!! There is additional electronics INSIDE the mirror assembly itself hence the add'l cost for the right side mirror. If you have a better explanation please pass it along to us.

Just to clear up my misinformation, the right mirror has the outside temperature sensor in it. Hence the higher price for the right.
