Oct 04, 2018With the warranty forever program you normally have to do two main things to maintain it. 1) Bring it to any licensed professional to have it inspected and 2) have a licensed professional perform the required maintenance.
How much it's going to cost you depends on the dealer or mobile tech that you bring it to. The inspection fee is usually around $150 for dealers and I've heard of it being as low as $75. You'll also have to pay a dealer or mobile tech to have the required maintenance performed such as caulking and lubing the axles. Once again, the costs depends on who you bring it to. This may be where they're getting this $500-$600 number from. Afterwards, you have to gather your receipts and send them in to prove that you've had everything done. In exchange, the warranty company will cover repairs and replacements of the covered parts excluding normal wear and tear.
The company behind the Warranty Forever you see everywhere is NWAN and this is how they do it. NWAN is the same company that does the Warranty Forever for cars and trucks. Is it a scam? Nope. They do hold up their end of the bargain as long as you hold up yours. It is a way for the dealer to keep you coming back, but if you don't do any of this yourself then you're going to be back anyway.
If you're capable of inspecting and maintaining the items outlined in the agreement then pass on this. It's much cheaper for you to just do it yourself. I perform maintenance myself and my annual costs are far less than the inspection fees alone. However, not everyone has the desire or the ability to do these things themselves. For those people, they're probably going to be bringing it to a dealer. If you're going to bring the trailer to a dealer to have the maintenance done then you're going to pay all of these the costs anyway.
