Washington & Oregon Sights One Should See

We are going to visit Washington & Oregon this summer & I am looking for recommendations to see while we are there. Sometimes when we visit an area & come home, someone may say did you see such & such & we may not have even known about it.
So we are trying to build a list of sights to see & things to do before we leave & try to come up with a plan for the time we have.
So any help from the folks in those states or folks that have traveled there & were really excited about a place they visited would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for your contributions.

  • That is a big chunk of territory. What area(s)do you plan to concentrate on? We have traveled extensively in both states and still have not seen everything.
  • Go to the Northy-est, Westy-est point at Cape Flattery. Beautiful drive and super impressive.

  • Man, it's a big list ... here are some ideas in no particular order.

In Seattle area, ride a ferry and drive by Microsoft Campus in Redmond. Nice drives: drive over Chinook Pass, drive North Cascades highway. Out of the way places: visit Omak Stampede, Crater Lake National Park, Mt Saint Helens. Fish for salmon or sturgeon. Drive the Oregon Coast. Visit Olympic National Park rain forest.
