Just another question. I am wondering what size waste water tote to get. Best place to get it and what brand seems to be best. I am ordering the Rhinoflex brand disposal combo 15 foot and wondering if I should get the 10 ft extension also. To be safe I am also got a water regulator, cleanout plug wrench combo, surge suppressor, 90 degree elbow, drill socket for stabilizers, 30inch tv, hatchet, rubber mallet ,duct tape, fresh water hose, wheel chocks, disposable gloves , a few fold up chairs in a bag and my wife lolAnything else some of you more experienced rvers think I should consider? Thinking seriously about an electric jack as I have arthritis.I appreciate everyones input. Any ideas where a nice long term reasonable site for long term for next January and February in Florida or Arizona or Texas? I can't stand the cold any longer and would like a safe place to leave the TT while we explore or take a cruise or zoom home to Tennessee for a week.thanks

As to the tote question, generally, you want to get the biggest you can afford, or close to your grey tank size. Thetford and Barker are the two big brands. Both are fine. Barker is the original I believe. I've got a 32 gal 2 wheel Barker and it works great. I have a 40 gal grey tank btw and it gets me by just fine If you go bigger, you might want to look at the 4 wheel models. Thetford has a side discharge model that a lot of folks like too. I paid about $180 off Amazon with free shipping about 6 or 7 years ago. Most don't use it for the black tank as the black hardly ever gets full, but you could if you wanted to.

For waste water, I prefer a small 5 gallon jug I can dump down the drain at a spigot, sink or toilet. Usually I only need to get rid of a few gallons and the jug makes that easy.

one thing to remember. you have to pull it to the dump station. so if by car no problem, if by hand, well it will be heavy. and how far away is the dump station ?

We use a 27 gallon Thetford waste tote while at the lake. Dump every couple of days. Hook the handle to trucks hitch ball and off to the dump station. Works great gets heavy when full. Our new fiver has a an 81 gallon grey tank so not sure how often I'll have to use the tote.

I opted for the 27g Thetford tote, which is as big as I really want to drag. At over 200 lbs full it is still on the heavy side, but it can also be attached to a TV hitch and towed to the dump station.A sewer extension is a good idea - we have needed 15-20' several times. The rest of my use and maintenance gear is derived from past need, or "what if" thinking like changing a flat, replacing fuses, repairing plumbing, wanting AC in a browned out campground, etc...

You mentioned an electric jack. To me that is more of a necessity than an option. I have arthritis and a bad back. If not for the jack I think I would have to give up the TT.

With all the hoses and things you are getting along with the gloves, put you in a bottle of water mixed with bleach to help clean after the dump. Although we have just a medium travel trailer...I use a small collapsible rubber pan to do my dishes in, then dump the water in my black water tank every now and then, helps to keep it clean. A question, do you have screens on your heater intake and exhaust, plus others? Helps keeps the bugs out....

Our blue tote is only 15 or 20 gal. We likely would have gone larger but bought this from my cousin who moved into a huge MH. It does have the handle that drops over the ball on the hitch and is easy to haul to the dump station. On a longer trip or one where we stay several days in one place, this is usually an every morning task for DH....not bad, just repetitive.

I have 2 540 gallon gray tanks and a 42 gallon Barker Tote. I wanted a tote that could handle the full capacity of my gray tanks.
The full 42 gallon tote is heavy but I don't have to actually pick it up.
The 42 gallon model as 4 wheels and can be pulled like a wagon over to the truck.
From there it can be towed to the dump station
The new Barker 42 gallon totes now come standard with inflatable rubber tires.
My current unit has lots of gray capacity but occasionally I still need the Tote.

Just bought the 42 gal barker 4 wheeler I don't think I'll need 42 gal but I would rather have to much capacity than not enough so I can avoid spills.

What kind of fiver do you have? Thats a huge grey tank. What is the fresh water capacity and black water capacity too?

That's why my next tote will be a 25gal with 4 wheels.
