When I drain from the anode hole there is still water and quite a bit of calcium in the bottom of the tank. Have you ever taken the shutoff valve out and out your finger in there? - midnightsadieExplorer III took mine out threw it away installed a shut off valve and drain hose. after each trip I drain it and the fresh water tank. 7yrs old no problems.
- jimh406Explorer IIII use adjustable wrench with screwdriver through the hole. They aren't usually that tight.

- SuperDutyFiverExplorerThe steal anodes are usually 15/16, plugs range from 1-1/16 to 1-1/4. I think the heating element will be 1-1/2". Have at least a 6" extension-12" works super... ;)

1-1/16 = 1.0625
1.0625" x 25.4 = 26.9875 or ~27mm - Mortimer_BrewstExplorer III use a 27 mm socket on mine. I believe that 27 mm is about the same as 1 1/16. I just don't feel like doing the math at the moment. :)
